Recovery is about the time in my life I set aside to process the loss of my mother. During my journey, I’ve discovered Self and all of its different parts. Often, I'd define a part of Self as the Whole Self. For example, I'd be sad and ask "Why am I a sad person," not, "Why am I feeling sad." Part does not define the whole. The only thing that was holding me back from realizing this, was me. When you truly understand how much potential all of us possess, and how we have the luxury of perspective to react to any given situation, life opens up and grief becomes something beautiful. Heartbreaking, tragic, & painful... but still beautiful.
