In August 2016, it’ll be 2 years since I last saw my mother alive. This entire project is dedicated to her. One thing I’ve learned throughout the making of this EP is that while our existence as human beings may be temporary, our love is not. Somewhere in my music, my mother's presence is still felt. Somewhere in this sound, she still exists. The track “You’re Not Here,” includes a voice memo my mom recorded sometime before she died. Since there was no goodbye, hearing this recording saved me. It was her final farewell to her children, whether she knew it or not.
